When it came time to expand a portion of the department while continuing their research, Boston University knew Wise was the right partner for the job. Existing office and lab spaces were converted into a cell culture lab, lab prep space, wet lab and dry lab. The design incorporated floor-to-ceiling glass panels that provide an inside look for passing students, faculty, and visitors. Finishes included new lab casework, flooring, custom whiteboards, and specialty lighting. Additional upgrades were made to the electrical system and all new fire protection was installed. A new acid waste system supports this lab as well as all other labs in the building and two rooftop air handling units. The learning spaces called for a robust AV system with speakers and large monitors.
