Wise Construction is pleased to announce they have promoted three individuals to the Senior Vice President level: Alexander Main, Eric Libby and Jason Hartford. The firm has achieved tremendous growth with revenue climbing 25% in 2021. The promotion of these individuals cements their role as senior leaders responsible for continuing the firm’s strong growth trajectory. Additionally, the firm has brought Marty Leik on board as their Corporate Safety Director. Leik will ensure best-in-class safety performance on all of Wise’s jobsites and keep their teams at the forefront of safety training and best practices.
Main has been with Wise for over 12 years. In his tenure he has progressed from intern to Project Executive and now into his new role as SVP, Project Executive. Main leads collaborative teams focused on life science and corporate interiors projects and has worked with clients such as Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Takeda, Vertex, Pfizer, Biogen, Moderna, Novartis, Agios and Jamestown. Main graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Construction Management, is a LEED AP, and also holds several industry certifications including his MA Construction Supervisors License, 30-hour OSHA, and 64-hour Lean Healthcare.
With over 22 years of experience, Libby, SVP, Project Executive, joined Wise’s team in 2011 as a Project Manager. In his time with the company, he has led projects for well-known healthcare and biotech clients throughout Greater Boston such as Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, East Boston Neighborhood Health, Merk Millipore, Bristol Myers Squibb, Forsyth, Takeda and Watts Technologies. Another Wentworth alum, Libby graduated with a B.S. in Construction Management. Libby is a LEED AP and holds several industry certifications including ASHE Healthcare Construction, 64-hour Lean Healthcare, 10-Hour OSHA and MA Construction Supervisors License. Prior to joining Wise, Libby worked in project management for CM&B and Commodore Builders.
Hartford, SVP, Preconstruction, brings 22 years of experience in preconstruction services for the Boston area’s most renowned healthcare, life science, education and institutional clients. Hartford’s expertise in estimating and planning supports every project the firm undertakes. Hartford began his career at William A. Berry & Son where he worked for 10 years. Following his time there, he was with Suffolk for one year before joining Wise in 2011. Hartford also attended Wentworth, is LEED AP, and holds several industry certifications including 10-hour OSHA Certification and 64-hour Lean Healthcare.
While Main, Libby and Hartford will maintain their day-to-day roles of collaborating with clients and Wise’s construction teams in the planning and execution of successful projects, their promotion to SVP will more closely align the three as leaders of the organization. They will be focused on operational excellence, evaluating and refining the firm’s construction management processes, as well as mentoring and developing team members. They will be accountable for furthering Wise’s growth trajectory by securing new projects and maintaining client relationships.
“There couldn’t be three more qualified, dedicated and respected individuals to lead the next generation of Wise,” said John Wise, President and Owner of Wise. “This trio has been invaluable to making Wise a special and successful company over the past decade. They are stewards of the Wise culture and will continue to instill this in our people.”
Leik brings 17 years of experience to the Wise team overseeing safety on complex construction projects across all market sectors from life science, healthcare, institutional to commercial. As Corporate Safety Director at Wise, Leik will oversee the firm’s robust safety program including all jobsite inspections, safety training, regulatory compliance and building the company’s safety culture. Prior to joining Wise, Leik worked for Lendlease and Suffolk. He earned a Master’s in Applied Science from Indiana University and is a certified Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST). He serves on the Associated General Contractors Safety Committee and the MA CM Covid Safety Team, and is a volunteer safety instructor for YouthBuild Boston and Madison Park Technical Vocational School.
“We are thrilled to have Leik join the Wise team,” said Shawn Seaman, Chief Operating Officer of Wise. “As occupied space specialists, our teams work in the most sensitive and challenging environments. Leik’s expertise will enhance our established safety program to keep Wise’s teams, trade partners and clients at the forefront of safety.”
