East Boston Neighborhood Health Center provides healthcare services to over 80,000 people who live and work in East Boston and the surrounding communities of Chelsea, Revere, Everett, and Winthrop. Recently they found a need to provide a greater range of elder services in the Revere area and are working to open the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). The perfect location ended up being the site of a former VFW, nestled in a residential area of Revere near the marsh. Wise Construction was brought on to fully build the 25,000 SF single-story structure in the rear of the one-acre site. Because the site is adjacent to wetlands, geopiers had to be installed on site for a ground improvement system before the footings and foundations were installed. From start to finish Wise worked closely with isgenuity and AKF to get the most out of the budget without compromising design and function. Through value engineering we were able to deliver a project that met the Revere communities expectations while remaining within the budget.
